- About -
Chmup was written in C using the Raylib framework and completed for the Basic Shmup Jam!
9 waves and a bossfight await!
Collect to recover your shield bar
Collect to fill your power bar.
While power is draining normal shots become powerful spreadshots
- Pro Tip -
Your shots veer left and right as you move. This is intentional. Your bullets maintain some of your ships velocity when they were fired.
Taking advantage of this, you can aim shots into enemies while staying out of the line of fire. Additionally, flying towards enemies while shooting will deal damage faster.
- Assets -
All art, music, and sound effects were created by me for and during the jam.

Thank you for making it so I can just remove the music files to turn off the music. ^.^
Tall vertical arcade cabinet style screen, excellent music and beautiful sprites. A big fan of the left and right tilted shots while wobbling about too. Mucho polished work.
One sentence review: "Stylish coin-op action that will drain your change faster than you can drain your shields"
Thanks so much! I'm really pleased you enjoyed the tilted shots, I knew people would either love it or hate it.
Your one sentence review makes a great tagline!
This looks so good! Would not even think this was made in a jam!
Thank you, I did have more than a month to work on it though. Did you make it to the boss?
I got to the start of stage 8 and died. There are some enemies where I would rather wait for them to slowly creep off stage than risk getting hit. Like health is almost too valuable to risk losing. Other than that it's a fun game :)
Yep, stage 8 is definitely the toughest, and the double helix enemies have high risk - not much reward. Thanks for the feedback!
No problem. Good game!
